Macaron Making: Flammen & Citronen

Well, sure, the title says it all really. I love myself a macaron. If I could eat a macaron every day, every hour…well I guess I can! I’ve only really gotten into macaron eating over the last four years, or so, and into macaron creating for about one.

I’m always enthralled walking into Pierre Hermé, in Covent Garden, or looking over the counter at Ladurée, not much further away. The amazing colours, yes, but the taste combinations! I try to comprehend how such delicious, balancedness can be encompassed in two small, almond shells – pure genius.

It was after a recent trip to Pierre Hermé, a special first year anniversary treat from the hubby (definitely a keeper!), that I thought it was time to go on an actual class instead of trying different recipes and techniques without reaching perfection. Enter Flammen & Citronen!
